Key Responsibilities:

• Accurately enter charges into the billing system for services provided to patients in accordance with clinical documentation.
• Ensure the use of correct CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes for various procedures and diagnoses.
• Review charge capture documentation and identify any missing or incomplete information.
• Verify insurance coverage and check for authorization requirements prior to submitting claims.
• Work with healthcare providers and clinical staff to resolve discrepancies in charge entry.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding changes, insurance policies, and regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with the coding and billing team to ensure all charges are captured accurately and in a timely manner.
• Perform routine audits to ensure that charges are entered correctly.
• Communicate with insurance companies and other healthcare providers as necessary to resolve any billing issues.
• Assist in preparing reports and conducting research on denied or rejected claims.

Qualification & Skills:

• High School diploma or equivalent (Associates or Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or related field preferred).
• Certification in Medical Billing and Coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, or similar) preferred.
• Minimum of 1-4years of experience in charge entry or a related role in healthcare.
• Proficient in medical billing software and electronic health records (EHR) systems.
• Strong understanding of medical terminology, ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Experience with insurance verification and claims processing.
• Knowledge of payer-specific billing requirements and payer policies.
• Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skills.
